Samsung is preparing to introduce a new addition to its popular “Fan Edition” lineup with the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE. The confirmation of this smartphone was spotted on Samsung’s Malaysia website and also on Geekbench. It is expected to be launched in October, after the release of the iPhone 16 series and the Google Pixel 9 series.
Back in April, the SM-S721U model number was listed with the UK carrier EE, but recently, the SM-S721B model number has been spotted on both Geekbench and the Malaysia website. The difference in model numbers indicates that the “U” variants are typically for the U.S. market, while the “B” variants are meant for international markets, including India.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE – Specs and Features
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is positioned between its predecessor, the S23 FE, and the current flagship Galaxy S24. This is because, in terms of camera, it appears to have a similar setup to the S23 FE, and in terms of display and processor, it shares many similarities with the Galaxy S24. It’s expected to run on Android V14, based on One UI 6.1.1, and will also include all the latest AI features from Samsung. Let’s dive into a detailed analysis of the features and specifications listed below.
Design
In terms of looks, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE closely follows the design language of Samsung’s flagship series. The back of the phone features a vertically aligned triple camera setup in the top-left corner, along with an LED flash. The smartphone will be available in five colors: Yellow, Blue, Graphite, Silver/White, and Green, depending on the region or market.

The S24 FE will come with an aluminum frame and strong Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection for the front glass. The back panel is also made of glass, though details about its protection are not yet known. In terms of size, it matches the Galaxy S24+ perfectly. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 FE is likely to feature IP68 dust and water resistance, adding to its durability and aligning with flagship standards.
Display
The Galaxy S24 FE will feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic 2X AMOLED display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate support. It offers better peak brightness than the S23 FE, reaching up to 1900 nits, and includes HDR10+ support. In terms of size, the display is larger than both the Galaxy S23 FE and S24, matching the size of the Galaxy S24+.

The bezel on the Galaxy S24 FE has been improved compared to the S23 FE. Previously, the bezel was thicker, but it has now been slimmed down to just 1.99 mm. The display offers a resolution of FHD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
Processor
The Galaxy S24 FE is powered by the Samsung Exynos 2400e processor, the same chipset found in Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones. The “e” in the chipset’s name indicates that the Cortex-X4 core runs at a clock speed of 3.11GHz, slightly lower than the usual 3.2GHz seen in standard Exynos 2400 versions. All other cores maintain the same clock speeds, but the main “P” core is clocked 0.1GHz lower, hence the “e” designation.
The Exynos 2400e chipset in the Galaxy S24 FE is based on a 4nm fabrication process. Its CPU architecture includes a Deca-core (10-core) setup: 1x Cortex-X4 up to 3.11GHz, 2x Cortex-A720 up to 2.9GHz, 3x Cortex-A720 up to 2.6GHz, and 4x Cortex-A520 up to 1.96GHz. For graphics, it features the Samsung Xclipse 940 GPU.
The smartphone will launch internationally, including in India, with the Exynos 2400e chipset. However, as Samsung often varies chipsets by region, the U.S. version may come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This isn’t surprising, as Samsung has previously used different model numbers and chipsets for different regions, with “U” and “B” designations indicating regional variations.
Camera
The back of the Galaxy S24 FE will feature a triple camera setup, with the main lens being a 50-megapixel sensor, similar to what is found in the S23 FE, S24, and S24+. The other two lenses include an 8 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 10 MP ultrawide lens with a 120˚ field of view. For selfies, the smartphone will have a single 10 MP front-facing camera.

In terms of video recording, the Galaxy S24 FE’s primary lens supports up to 8K recording at 24fps. Additionally, the telephoto, ultrawide, and selfie cameras can record videos at a maximum of 4K @60fps. Let’s take a closer look at the specifications of these camera lenses.
- 50 MP main lens :- Samsung ISOCELL (S5K)GN3
- 8 MP 3x telephoto lens :- SK Hynix Hi-847
- 10 MP ultrawide :- Sony IMX564 / Samsung ISOCELL (S5K)3L6
- 10 MP selfie :- Samsung ISOCELL (S5K)3J1
Looking at the camera, the smartphone seems to be a complete match for its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 FE, however, we can expect it to be further optimized.
Battery & Other Features
In terms of battery, the Galaxy S24 FE sees a slight improvement, with its capacity increased from 4500 mAh to 4565 mAh. While specific details about charging speed haven’t been confirmed, it’s expected to support 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The company claims that the smartphone will offer up to 29 hours of video playback and up to 78 hours of music playback.

The Galaxy S24 FE will unlock all AI features found in Samsung’s flagship smartphones, including Portrait Studio, Generative Edit, Circle to Search, Sketch to Image, AI Object Remover, and Live Translate. It will run on Android V14, based on One UI 6.1.1. Additionally, it’s expected to receive long-term software updates for up to 7 years, similar to Samsung’s flagship models.
The Galaxy S24 FE will launch with multiple RAM and storage options, including 8GB and 12GB RAM, along with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage variants. It will feature LPDDR5X RAM, with UFS 3.1 storage for the 128GB variant and UFS 4.0 storage for the larger variants. The availability of these variants may vary depending on the market and region. The expected price range for the smartphone is between $649 and $699.
