A few months after the launch of the Vivo V30 series, the V series has welcomed a new member with the launch of the V40 series. Continuing the tradition, the V series now presents two premium 5G models: the Vivo V40 5G and the Vivo V40 Pro 5G.

In this discussion, we will focus on the Vivo V40 Pro 5G, examining its complete specs, running benchmarks on AnTuTu and Geekbench, and comparing its chipset benchmarks with the previous V30 Pro. The Vivo V series has gained recognition for its design, display, and camera quality, and this time it has made significant improvements in performance as well.

The smartphone features a superb-quality 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display, the previous year’s flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, and a triple rear camera setup of 50+50+50 MP with AURA light. For selfies, there is a 50 MP single camera setup. The V40 Pro 5G is similar to the V40 5G in many aspects but stands out with its enhanced camera setup, more powerful chipset, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

The Vivo V40 Pro 5G is equipped with the powerful Dimensity 9200+ chipset, which enables it to achieve benchmark scores close to those of flagship series smartphones. The device has earned a remarkable AnTuTu score of 1,511,470 points, with a CPU score of 404,955 and a GPU score of 561,556. The high GPU score indicates that the smartphone handles GPU-intensive tasks with ease.

Compared to its predecessor, the V30 Pro 5G, the V40 Pro 5G shows massive improvements: its AnTuTu score is 53.44% higher, its CPU score is 44.91% higher, and its GPU score is 110.3% higher. The improved chipset in the V40 Pro contributes to a significant leap in performance, as reflected by this impressive score.

Vivo V40 Pro 5G – Geekbench Score

For running Geekbench scores, we used the 12GB + 512GB variant of the Vivo V40 Pro 5G, which features LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. These specifications contribute to the high benchmark results. The smartphone achieved a remarkable single-core score of 2,108 and a multi-core score of 5,544, indicating its smooth performance in both single-threaded and multi-threaded tasks. Additionally, it attained an impressive OpenCL score of 11,556 for GPU-related tasks.

In comparison to the previous model, the V40 Pro 5G shows substantial improvements: it has a 74.1% higher single-core score, a 40.4% higher multi-core score, and a 149.7% higher OpenCL score for GPU tasks. These increases highlight the significant performance advancements of the V40 Pro 5G.

[Note: In the Vivo V30 Pro 5G, we observed a maximum Geekbench score of 1,211 for single-core, 3,949 for multi-core, and 4,640 for OpenCL.]
